Step One
Step One is our baby room. The capacity is 18 and the ratio is 1:3. The room is divided into two areas allowing the children the opportunity to explore at their own pace, whether they are mobile or not.
Many sensory activities and treasure baskets are available throughout the day and provide so many learning opportunities, especially when a baby is desperate to find out what is hidden at the bottom of the basket! Best of all the staff enjoy their share of cuddles too and what a good time it is to have a cuddle when having a bottle or having a calm moment before nodding off for sleep.
The room is self contained with a cot room, milk kitchen and laundry/nappy change facility and staff within the unit ensure excellent communication with parents/carers enabling a baby's individual needs are catered for. Messy type play is also enjoyed at this age and we take every opportunity to discover our creative side, whether it be with water, shaving foam or cornflour!
