Step Two
Step Two is an active unit where the children start to develop a sense of independence as well as starting to play alongside and with their peers, therefore acquiring and developing their social skills.
The children have the opportunity for creative, messy activities such as painting and sticking, sand and water play, as well as quietier past-times in the home corner, book corner and soft play area. Access is available to the nursery garden where various activities will also be available.
The children have free-flow snacks throughout the day and a dedicated rest area for an afternoon nap.
The continuation of music, singing and all aspects of creative play progresses on from Step One into a slightly more structured routine, developing the children's learning and enjoyment.
Plenty of opportunities are given to explore and discover both in the nursery setting and in the local community with regular walks and trips out.
