Step One
Step One consists of 2 base rooms allowing the younger babies a calm, quieter atmosphere and the older, more mobile babies the opportunity to explore their larger environment with freedom and confidence.
The younger room has a homely feel with a large sofa for cuddling and bottle feeding the babies, together with a designated sleep area within the room, ensuring the babies are constantly monitored when sleeping.
The second base room is divided into areas allowing for messy, creative play as well as the opportunity to snuggle down with a book in the quiet area, and free flow access to their own section of the nursery garden.
Activities are planned for each day in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage and the children have constant access to various toys and resources including natural treasure baskets and sensory materials keeping them challenged and motivated throughout their nursery day.
The babies feel safe and secure in the warm and caring atmosphere provided by the dedicated team of staff. Close links with the parents are vital to cater for each child's individual needs as well as supporting their development and learning.
The team of staff are very aware of the natural concerns and possible worries that may arise when parents first leave their baby in our care and every effort is made to ensure this experience is as calm and supportive as necessary and a reassuring phone call during the day is always encouraged.
